Assignments

So I got my assignment today!  It looks like we're going to have 3 DOW's and about 8 Scout vehicles (formerly Probe vehicles) with mesonets and pods.  Dr. Josh Wurman will be operating DOW7, the lead vehicle, up until the last minute when he plans to hop out and jump in Scout1 to help deploy pods.  Sean Casey (of the IMAX film Tornado Alley and creator of TIV-tornado intercept vehicle) is joining us during the season along with a Spanish TV crew.  However, his former driver Ronan is actually going to be in charge of driving Scout1.  I am going to be in Scout1 with Ronan and Josh to help with navigation and deploying pods.  Our Scout will have four pods that have to be deployed in about 45 seconds...and they weigh 120lbs each.  Yikes! I'm getting a little nervous, especially with being in vehicle numero uno with the big shots Ronan and Josh so fingers crossed that I do okay!  We pull out at 7am tomorrow morning!
