NCAR

Well yesterday was a long, tiring day.  Got out to the hangar bright and early to find that there wasn't really anyone there...Apparently storm chasers like to sleep in (not my style).  So I rode down to Denver to pick up another team member from the airport with our team medic.  We then ended up running errands all over central Colorado picking up parts and vehicles for the trip.  But when we got back, well my next task was right up my alley (pun intended....tornado alley?  get it?).  They had a big box of keys and no idea what scout or DOW vehicles they went to.  So we got to organize and sort keys.  Sounds simple right?  Just check a few car doors and match the keys with vehicles.  Not so simple when numerous car parts have been replaced over and over and there are different keys for different doors and ignitions and back hatches...Yeah took a while.  Once that was done, we were told to go take advantage of Boulder and see the sights so we went up Table Mesa to tour NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research).  Wow.  It was so beautiful up there in the foothills.  Behind the facility there is a gigantic network of biking and hiking trails winding up and down the mountains, not to mention a road bike path the entire way up the mountain.  We even saw some deer shedding their winter coats right outside the front door!  Following the NCAR adventure the evening was mine to enjoy so I wandered around downtown Boulder...beautiful....and found a cute little California Greek cafe and ate a delicious Greek salad while watching the sunset over the mountains.  Yeah, I could get used to this...

Still planning for a Saturday departure!
