Carnado

Hello all!  Sorry for not posting the past few days but you haven't missed anything!  We've just been moping around the hangar complaining about the big high pressure ridge and triple checking the pods/vehicles.  Tuesday evening, Josh Wurman and his wife Ling hosted us at their beautiful home for dinner.  They have the best view off their back deck of the foothills.  It is absolutely stunning.  We had some delicious home cooked food and...I've been told for the very first time ever in the Wurman household...turned the lights down and danced!  And we went for a brief hike yesterday after a nearly 9 hour workday but other than that, all's quiet in Boulder.

This afternoon we drove about a half hour east of Boulder and went on a practice mission complete with a "carnado."  We practiced deploying our pods before the tornado got there and worked on positioning the radar truck.  Despite a few hiccups, it went fairly smoothly (if you count having use the DOW to tow the cargo van out of a culvert on the side of the road and someone bleeding from a head wound due to pod deployment minor hiccups).  But all's well that ends well and tomorrow we will download the data and evaluate a possible opportunity for chasing in New Mexico this weekend!  Fingers crossed!!
